It’s time to have a word with your boss: looking after your employees through workplace wellness programs improves employee morale, reduces company healthcare costs, and increases productivity.

If a survey from Workplace Wellness Management is anything to go by, it’s time to have that conversation pronto.

The report says, despite the positive impacts of wellness programs at work, there continues to be apprehension from senior management, who have trouble linking the idea of vibrant health to productivity.

Once you’ve convinced your boss, it’s time to spread the word amongst less-motivated employees (yes, Tom, fruit and veges are really better for you than those nutritionally empty chips. Kim, step away from the vending machine).

If that all sounds like too much hard work, The Green Dove has found a healthy and convenient solution that’s good for your diet, you can take to your boss, so she can carry on with the job at hand.

U.S. family-owned company The FruitGuys, makes workplace wellness convenient with weekly delivery of fresh, organic fruit and vegetables—which employees (and the boss too) can also take take home.

“Fresh fruit at the office energizes and motivates employees—healthier employees means higher productivity and a better bottom line for the business,” says founder Chris Mittelstaedt (pictured right). “Our buyer is hard at work early in the morning every day, selecting for quality and taste among fruits that were picked fresh from the field just hours earlier.”

The company also wants people to get active, with the FruitGuys Walking Club Program providing low-cost pedometers and a how-to guide for staff to organize their own walking or stair-climbing clubs. There’s also a weekly newsletter that not only helps educate, but takes employees behind the scenes to meet the farmers who grow the food that’s delivered in perfect condition to your desk. There’s even office fitness tips, that will have the staff running marathons in no time.

Fruit and vege boxes start at a mere $24.50. Find out more about The FruitGuys here.
