I cannot rave enough about my experience at Fred Segal Salon with the owner Matthew Preece and the Formula LA shampoo and conditioner I was gifted! I had my hair cut and colored on February 23rd, yes February 23rd, and it still looks amazing 14 weeks later – incredible!
Living green can be overwhelming. Where to start? From eco cars and planet-friendly cleaning products to organic wines and veganism, its little wonder many opt to do nothing for fear of not being able to do it all.

As a Laughter Yoga leader I am often presented with the question of “what if it just isnt funny?” There are many times in our lives when nothing is funny. Ever wonder why you cant seem to make the changes you want to make no matter how hard you try? Its because youre hypnotized. Everyone is. You just dont realize it-thats the power of hypnosis. You dont need to be hypnotized in order to change; you need to be de-hypnotized.
Why it’s great: Using the alphabet, rhyming vignettes and fun illustrations, The ABCs of Yoga for Kids by Teresa Anne Power, promotes flexibility and coordination, while encouraging over-stimulated children to incorporate healthy activity to their day.
Whos reading it: Three to eight-year-olds, whose parents want to help their child develop flexibility, coordination, focus, strength, while becoming calmer and more self-aware. Yoga also benefits sports-loving kids (think volleyball, basketball, soccer, tennis, dance, martial arts).
What theyll learn: David Simon, M.D., medical director of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing and author of The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga and Free to Love, Free to Heal, says, “This charming book lovingly connects our next generation of yogis to their bodies and their world. Establishing this connection early in our children’s lives gives me hope for our planet.” Sinjin Smith, Olympian and World Champion Beach Volleyball Player, concurs: “Yoga helped me compete at the highest level of my sport well into my forties. Many people think yoga is only for adults, but this book makes us realize that yoga’s benefits can now be shared with children as well, enabling them to enjoy life to the fullest by staying active and healthy starting early on.”
From celebrities to yogis, everyone seems to be doing it, but what are the benefits of yoga and where do you begin if you’ve never tried it? The Green Dove headed to YogaWorks to get the low down from instructor Chrissy Carter.
